Engineering progress, with the boundaries left in. This log records accepted work in the current internal build—not launch promises. Wehron Browser is being developed for two owner-controlled Apple Silicon Macs and is not available for public download.

Current build
Browser Mode is ordinary startup with familiar Chromium browsing in one persistent profile. OSINT Mode requires a confirmed restart and adds visible analyst/case, one persistent session per case, append-only research, evidence, and case-scoped collection. Sessions never cross modes; only an exact credential-free HTTP(S) address may be deliberately handed off after the destination analyst/case are active.
Accepted milestones
AUGUST 2, 2026 · ACCEPTED — W1-07: Startup recovery and crash consistency closed. Before an OSINT session or page opens, bounded recovery state is inspected. Exact verified prepared-download, interrupted-evidence, retained-download Trash, and failed-evidence Trash workflows require explicit confirmation. Partial, legacy, corrupt, ambiguous, unmanaged, or unsupported material remains preserved and blocking. MHTML never replays; downloads never auto-open; Trash is not secure erase. Acceptance note: complete local Apple Silicon gate passed 587 Vitest tests in 53 files, 44 active Electron scenarios, and the production build; matching CI pipeline passed. Real process-kill/relaunch tests cover protocol phases, not sudden-power-loss or lost-filesystem-cache behavior.

W1-06: Path-free Download Ledger, live progress, exact-byte duplicate warnings; explicit consent, case-scoped, hashed, never auto-open. W1-05: bounded append-only research events, operation sequencing, stable analyst attribution; SHA-256 chain is tamper-evident, not independent authenticity proof.

W1-04: stable immutable analyst IDs across display-name changes; labels are not authentication, access control, or proof. Earlier accepted foundations: W1-02 Evidence Library with fresh verification and PNG-only no-network preview; W1-03 immutable case lifecycle with create, rename, archive, restore and fail-closed transitions. Case deletion unavailable; MHTML remains inert.
Release gates
Protected production storage (current structured data is plaintext); user-facing portable backup and recovery; Developer ID signing and notarization; production update feed, trust, and UI; notes, tags, content search, and export; further hardening and release acceptance. No public download or committed date.
